This "villian" may seem like poison ivy to
St. Canard and Darkwing's crimefighting, but he's really just a shy violet. ;)
Bushroot was my first favourite character on the show; he has since been
replaced in the "top spot" by Megavolt, but it's still a pretty _close_ tie.
(And since both of my faves are _villians_, that tells you something about me,
huh?) Notice, also, that both of them are sort of mad-scientist types...I like
my characters (good or bad) to be _intelligent_, and creative...
This picture is my first attempt at drawing him. I drew him as dancing around
the greenhouse and being happy (and using his powers on random flowers for no
reason) because he's almost NEVER happy on the actual show--he's so sad and
lonely (a big part of why I feel for him, of course.) In this picture,
however, he is happy to be what he is and no longer ashamed of being a plant
(hence the quote in the corner). I was going for a feeling of grace, easy,
fluid movement, motion for the sheer joy of motion itself, and happy, bounteous,
blooming _life_. All the soft graceful curves were chosen very much on purpose
to give this picture the right "flow". Don't know if it worked, but hey, I
gotta point out these things, after going to tons of work to do them. ;)
