"Blathering Blatherskite!" As FURTHER proof that I have gone off the deep end...here's the Switchverse version of _Duckburg's_ local superhero--Gizmoduck! Er...Gizmo...gal?
The odd thing is, I HATED Gizmoduck when I first met him on Darkwing, but now that I've met the REAL Fenton and the "real" Gizmoduck, in their original environment on DuckTales, I _adore_ the character! His living situation is just like my own, I'm just as poor as him, I KNOW what it's like to live in a trailer...and he's a sad, pathetic little loser who thinks he is nothing as himself. And other people (Scrooge especially) don't do much to alleviate this impression. So he makes me really feel for him. On the other hand, he's hysterically FUNNY, coming up with bizzarre wonky schemes and going into "characters" to fool people--including disguises and accents--at the drop of a hat. Gizmoduck's super-brave honourable "perfect knight" personality isn't the REAL Fenton at all-it's a character he's putting on, and DuckTales rarely lets you forget the real person inside the suit. On Darkwing, they treat that role he plays as if it IS the real him. Anyway, I set out to draw him, and somehow ended up Switching him instead--and I got Gizmochick as well! Two identities for the price of one. I think Gizmochick turned out fairly cool, considering I normally can't draw mechanical/robotic things AT ALL.
Again, as is the main thing I try for with my "Switchverse" characters, she has the right EXPRESSION on her face to be Fenton--nervous, confused, and more than a bit clueless. Whatever the adding machine and the calculator are telling her about Scrooge's accounts, it appears to not be GOOD news...and she has NO clue what to do about it. "Don't ask ME", her expression seems to say...
