First picture I drew
in what I later decided to call the "Switchverse" series. This takes a bit of
explanation. It's not the Ranma 1/2 idea, where people plunge into
"Spring of Drowned Girl" and turn into female versions of themselves, and it's
certainly NOT the Fearsome Five themselves in drag. This is an _alternate
universe_, where everybody is the opposite gender from what they are on the
actual show--and _always HAVE been_. Not gender _changing, but an outright
_switch_, from the get-go. Hence, the "Switch"verse. ;)
A silly but fun experiment in creativity and thought-excercises, to find out
what they'd look ilke this way. I like the way Nemesis (lady Negaduck)
turned out best, the look in her eyes is positively _chilling_ and I dressed her
up as a 1940's film noir style "femme fatale". Which works as Darkwing (and
Negaduck)'s clothes and modus operandi are also rather film noir to begin with,
at least I have always thought. So is his theme song. Anyway, this is gonna
sound stupid, but the look in her eyes FREAKED me so much the entire time I was drawing
everybody else--I drew her first, being the main character, of course--that I
had to finish up the rest of the picture quickly! Yeah, yeah, I'm a wimp...
The one I'm LEAST happy with is Wisequacker (lady Quackerjack). I just could
NOT make her look pretty or even feminine at all, and in my zeal to give her a
new outfit, I sorta neglected to give her a _good_ new outfit. Ah, well.
