"Fire and Lightning"--this is a picture based off of somebody _else's_ fanfic,
namely, in this case, "Triptych", by Aurora. It's the third in her trilogy
introducing her own character, "Luminas", who I at first THOUGHT was going to
be a Mary Sue type, but, upon actually _reading_ the stories, I was pleasantly
surprised. Anyway. The above picture is from the third story, in which we get to see
the Villians' Charity Ball (which I thought was a funny concept in the first
place (giggle)) and at one point, Luminas asks Megavolt to dance, just because,
hey, they're at a ball, people expect it. (They're NOT actually a couple...just
friends, and even _that_ took a while to develop.) Luminas's dress here is what
was described in the story, and Megavolt was described as wearing a "yellow
tuxedo". I read that and thought, "I just HAVE to draw this!" so I scribbled down a rough draft version right then, even though it was late at night and I was tired. :P
Later on, I cleaned it up and added the shading and so forth, to get what you see here.
I do rather like the way Luminas's expression came out--it seems to be saying "I'm
not taking this situation seriously. I'm just _humouring_ it." (Personality-wise, it
also reminds me of Megaera, a bit, for some reason...
I just hope Aurora doesn't mind the weird way I drew her character. :P
